This is a good way to diversify from AdSense

Oktober 8, 2006

There’s a lot of buzz at the moment about a new ebook called Project X. So I bought it this afternoon to see if it lived up to its reputation. I’ ve just given it a detailed read through.

What it does is describe in detail a relatively foolproof way of getting going as a competent affiliate marketer. I can say for sure that most of the techniques described in the book work because I use them myself.

However, it also describes some techniques that I’ve never tried out but the logic behind them is compelling and I’ve actually set up a test for one of them today. Should have some results by Monday I hope.

So if you are interested in extending your internet activities beyond AdSense, and it always makes sense to diversify, I think you should take a look at it.

Of course, before you buy anything like this you should decide whether you will recover your costs and I’m confident that if you read it and use it, then you will.

Cost Per Action AdSense ads

Oktober 1, 2006

There’s some news this week from Google about Cost per Action AdSense ads. These are currently in beta meaning that they are not ready yet for a full international launch. Not many people are being allowed to try them out yet but I thought you might appreciate a quick update.

Cost per Action ads pay you only when a particular action takes place AFTER the ad is clicked. You get paid nothing for the click alone.

There are 2 main events that count: generating a sales lead and generating a sale.

Advertisers will be able to decide which they want to pay for and will decide how much to pay depending on the ability of their websites to convert visitors into profitable customers.

You won’t get paid for every click and it is too early to work out whether CPA ads will increase your AdSense earnings overall.  My guess is that they will because, from the advertiser’s perspective, the advertising process is de-risked: they know that all their budget will result in leads or sales.  Therefore they will be prepared to be more aggressive with their AdWords bidding.

If you don’t want to wait for AdSense you might be interested in other CPA networks.

I’ve just joined one and have posted a short note about it on this page http://www.factsaboutadsense.com/clickbooth.htm

More traffic for you?

I’ve also included a link on that page to a neat traffic generation system that is free to join and doesn’t require you to build any networks before it starts to work. All you have to do is browse the internet and you get traffic. Neat!

PS PLRpro update: The price for this top quality Private Label Rights site is jumping by a massive $30 a month in about a week’s time. If you sign up now you lock in the lower price for the duration of your subscription.

The reason they are raising their price is because demand for their service is very strong and there are only a limited number of spots available. More info from http://www.plrpro.info

Search term variants get AdSense traffic, Free

September 25, 2006

Yesterday I took a quick look at one of my web sites and was intrigued to see some of the keywords used to find it. There were some search phrases I would never have thought of such as “intriguing facts about psychology”. I can honestly say that I have never had any intention of ranking well for that phrase but I do anyway because I used an automated website building tool to create the site and it builds sites designed to attract free traffic. It’s my old favorite, Website Article Wizard.

It works.
What this situation also illustrates is just how complicated the world of search really is and how easy it is to overlook potentially valuable keywords and phrases that could get you free traffic.

There’s a test you can try that proves my point.

Go to any search engine and type in the phrases

* cheap website hosting, and
* cheap web site hosting

What you’ll probably see is that different websites rank in the top positions for each phrase. The outcome will actually vary according to which search engine you use and where you are too.

The implication of this is that if you only optimize your pages for one keyword or phrase when many other similar phrases could be used you are simply throwing away the opportunity to get free traffic.

Simplistically, assuming that the two above phrases are used equally by searchers, then each site is ignoring about 50% of its available traffic from those searches because they are only optimizing for one
phrase rather than two.

There’s a reasonable likelihood that if the site that is ranked first for “cheap website hosting” had an identical page which used the phrase “cheap web site hosting” throughout instead it would rank in first place for both terms.

It would then get twice as much traffic from this type of search.

And for what cost? Nothing more than the cost of hosting one additional page which is pretty much zero.

Search traffic is a highly competitive area and yet you only have to be a little bit smarter than your competitors to start winning. So what can you do to get that little bit smarter?

The solution

It involves replacing words throughout your web pages with synonyms i.e. words or phrases that mean the same thing such as anyone/anybody, fast/quick, strange/odd etc. and then publishing your new pages alongside the existing ones.

This is a laborious process but if you are serious about getting all the free traffic you can to boost your AdSense earnings, it is a highly effective strategy and it is where the product that I mentioned last week called Website Content Wizard comes it.

What Website Content Wizard does is automate the process of finding words and phrases in your articles and replacing them with words and phrases of the same or similar meaning. It works with your existing content too.

If you really want to go overboard you can then use a translation tool like Translation Gold to convert all your articles into foreign language versions too. Again, automatically.

This will dramatically increase your web presence without you having to do much work and you should then start to see more visitors. But don’t forget that new pages on sites can take a while to get into the search indexes so give it time.

PS There’s a special deal on at the moment: if you buy Website Content Wizard you can get Website Article Wizard at a significant discount. The two products are ideally suited to each other and specifically there is
an “export” function within WCW that lets you add your newly generated content directly into WAW ready for publication and inclusion in the site map etc.

PPS If you happen also to be looking for cheap web hosting, try Hostgator who offer a fixed price deal for as many domain names as you’ve got.

It’s a good solution if you are looking to build lots of sites and want to keep your hosting costs down and not have too much admin to do.

How to build websites automatically that humans actually like

Ogos 29, 2006

I’ve been experimenting with a new product over the last couple of weeks. It lets you build good-quality, human-friendly, search-engine friendly, content-rich sites fast. And you can include your AdSense JavaScript and any affiliate links too.

By fast I mean in 30 minutes. So you could build and publish 16 content-rich sites in an 8 hour day if you really wanted to. Seriously.

(If you want to skip the rest of this articles and just see more details click this link http://www.factsaboutadsense.com/rwaw.htm?top1)

Chuck in your own AdSense code plus any affiliate links you want and you’re looking at a way of dramatically expanding your online presence in a way that the search engines will respond to. Result: increased traffic and income potential.

Most auto-generated websites are rubbish in my view. They may appeal to the search engines for a short period but then they get banned. This system is different and much, much better.

The sites it generates are interesting to real people and I know this for a fact because on average each visitor to mine goes to just over 2 pages. This may not sound like a lot but the sad fact is that most people only ever look at 1 page on a site before disappearing again for ever because they are just not engaged in the content.

I’ve actually seen people on my generated sites visit 9 pages over a period of 6 or 7 minutes. You simply don’t get this behavior from people landing on most automatically generated sites because they are dull and not human-friendly. Not so with this system.

Over time good content rich sites like these attract that magical free search engine traffic we are all after which can only be Good News.

So do the sites this system builds work well with AdSense? Read what happened to the designer and then you decide.

His name is David Watson and he went on holiday at the beginning of January to Gambia. 2 weeks later he came back and found that he’d earned over 5300 dollars from AdSense on his automatically generated sites. You can see the proof here

http://www.factsaboutadsense.com/rwaw.htm?1

I tracked David down a few weeks back (he lives not far from me) and have since spoken to him on the phone for several hours to find out exactly why his system works so well and how it differed from all the other automatic systems for generating sites.

The key points are that it generates good quality content from a database of over 20000 articles that come with it. You select the topic you want your new site to be about by entering some keywords and it then locates all the relevant articles before randomly assembling them as web pages. (You have a lot of control over this process but a little bit of inaccuracy saves tons of explanation!)

Each web page contains links to several other articles in a clever way that ends up making each version of each article UNIQUE. This in turn ensures that even if 20 people made a site using the same keywords and the same template they would all look different as far as the search engines are concerned and in fact they would be different too.

Each article will be different and the links on each page to other articles will also be different.

If all this sounds complex it isn’t really. The system does all the work for you. You just need to tell it what your site is to be about and it does the rest while you grab a coffee.

Take a look at a couple of examples I’ve built using this tool and see how it could work for you.

http://www.cashfromkeywords.com?1

http://www.howtosavemoneywithvoip.com?1

The first one I put together the first time I used the program and I guess it took about an hour all told. The next one was a lot faster because I knew what I was doing.

So how could you use this system?

You could create a series of sites around high paying keywords, link to them from some forum posts, some articles and blog posts so that they got indexed.

Once the traffic starts to come you can then monetize with AdSense or affiliate program income.

If you are more concerned with attracting traffic to an existing site you can set up one of these sites to get traffic in the first place and then place an article as the home page that leads people onto your other site.

This system really is neat and it is not expensive either. Check it out at
